When Drupal is the right choice
Drupal is not the best choice for every website. It pays off when your site needs to do more than show a few pages:
- Lots of content or several languages. Drupal is built for multilingual sites with many pages, content types and editors.
- Accessibility is required. The European Accessibility Act applies since 28 June 2025. Accessible building is part of my design, not an afterthought.
- Integrations with other systems. A CRM, ERP, membership administration or external API.
- You do not want to be locked in. Drupal is open source: no licence fees and no dependency on one supplier.

How long does it take to build a website?
A standard website usually takes 3 to 6 weeks, depending on design choices and how quickly the content is ready. Larger platforms with integrations or several languages are planned together in phases.
What does a new Drupal website cost?
That depends on the scope: the number of page types, languages and integrations. I work at 75 to 95 euros per hour and give an estimate for the whole project up front. Website budget 2026 explains how to set a realistic budget yourself.
Can my current content be moved over?
Yes. Through an automated migration where possible, otherwise I help you move it. Your old URLs get a redirect, so you keep your positions in Google. More in migrating without losing search visibility.
Can I manage the website myself afterwards?
Yes. You get an admin environment that fits your content, and an explanation in plain language. Updates and security can be handled through maintenance and support.
Will my new website be accessible?
Yes. I build with accessibility as a starting point, following the WCAG 2.2 guidelines. That also matters for the European Accessibility Act.
