Technical SEO & Frontend Performance

When should you choose technical SEO & frontend performance?

A strong website is about more than just looking good. It's about how the front-end technology performs. I focus on a lightning-fast, accessible and user-friendly interface that connects seamlessly with the complex logic behind it.

Typical situations:

  • Your website feels slow or scores poorly on Google's Core Web Vitals.
  • You want an interface that's accessible to everyone (WCAG standards).
  • You have a complex design that needs translating into clean, durable code that works on every device.
  • You want a front end that not only works today, but is still easy to extend three years from now.

This service is about the technology in your website's code, usually a Drupal site: making the frontend faster, more accessible and easier for Google and AI assistants to read. Want to know first where you stand in Google and AI, and how you score against your competitors? Then start with an SEO and GEO audit.

My approach: speed and accessibility as standard

I build front ends with a “performance-first” focus.
No unnecessary bloat, just clean code that delivers an optimal user experience and better search engine visibility.

How I work:

  1. Front-end audit: Analysis of load times, mobile-friendliness and accessibility.
  2. UX translation: I translate visual designs into an interactive system with usability at its core.
  3. Technical build: Building to modern standards, making sure the front end communicates perfectly with your Drupal back end.
  4. Optimisation: Fine-tuning the smallest details to achieve the highest scores in speed and usability.

Why work with me

  • Full-stack insight: I understand how front-end choices affect the back end and vice versa.
  • Focus on Core Web Vitals: I know exactly how to achieve those green scores in Google.
  • Future-proof: I use modern techniques that stay maintainable in the long run.
  • Accessibility: Experience building to WCAG guidelines, so you don't exclude anyone.
  • Eye for detail: A pixel-perfect execution of your design, without losing sight of the technology behind it.

Frequently asked questions

What is technical SEO?

Technical SEO is the part of search engine optimisation that is about the website itself, not the texts. It covers loading time, crawlability, indexing, structured data, mobile display and accessibility. If that is not right, Google and AI assistants cannot read your pages correctly, and strong content cannot make up for a weak foundation.

What are Core Web Vitals?

Core Web Vitals are the three metrics Google uses to assess the user experience of a page: Largest Contentful Paint for loading speed, Interaction to Next Paint for responsiveness and Cumulative Layout Shift for visual stability. They are measured with real visitors, not in a test environment, so a good score in a tool says little on its own.

How do I make my website faster?

Start by measuring instead of optimising, because the cause differs per site. In practice the gains are usually in reducing JavaScript, serving images in modern formats at the right size, caching at the right layer, and avoiding render-blocking resources. A frontend analysis shows where the time is really lost.

What are the four principles of accessibility?

Perceivable, operable, understandable and robust. These four principles form the basis of the WCAG guidelines, and every success criterion falls under one of them. They apply to the whole interface, including forms, error messages and dynamic components.

How can I test my website for accessibility?

With a combination of automated tools and manual checks, because tools only find part of the problems. A practical approach is Lighthouse or axe DevTools for a first sweep, then going through the whole site with the keyboard and testing the key flows with a screen reader.

Does the European Accessibility Act apply to my website?

The European Accessibility Act, Directive 2019/882, applies since 28 June 2025 to a defined group of products and services, including e-commerce, banking, telecom, transport and e-books. Government sites already fell under the earlier Web Accessibility Directive. Whether your site falls under it depends on what you offer, so have that checked legally.

What is the difference with an SEO and GEO audit?

This service is about the technology in your code: building or improving a faster, more accessible frontend, usually in Drupal. An SEO and GEO audit looks wider, for any website: how you are found in Google and in AI assistants, and how you score against your competitors. The audit is often the first step, followed by this service for the technical implementation.
