Drupal Architecture & Development
Scalable foundations for complex ecosystems.
I design and implement robust Drupal platforms where technical architecture takes center stage. From complex data integrations and API connections to secure SaaS applications.
I build systems that perform and scale seamlessly with your organization.
When should you choose Drupal Architecture?
Drupal is the strategic choice for platforms that need to be more than a digital business card.
It excels at complexity, security and scalable data architecture.
Ideal for organisations and agencies looking for a technical foundation that's built to last.
Typical situations:
- You manage a complex ecosystem with multiple languages and deep integrations.
- You're starting a project that needs to scale (API-first, decoupled frontends, complex roles).
- You want a stable system that's genuinely yours, so you decide how and with whom you continue in the future.
- You need a partner who understands the full stack, from database architecture to a high-performance front end.
My Process: From Strategy to Result
Every project starts with a thorough technical analysis. I don't just build features, I design a modular system that stays maintainable in the long run.
- Architecture & Approach: I translate your business goals into a smart technical design. Not loose modules, but a well thought out data model that works now and in the future.
- Core Development & Security: I build to the highest standards. That means clean code that's secure against attackers, loads fast and stays easy to maintain.
- Integration & Quality Control: I connect your website seamlessly to your CRM, ERP or other external software. Before launch I test everything thoroughly, so we're sure it runs flawlessly.
- Management & Handover: You don't become dependent on me. I provide clear documentation and training, so your team can manage the content independently with ease.
Why work with me?
- 10+ years of Drupal experience: I know Drupal inside out, from older versions to the very latest. That experience means I don't need to experiment at your expense, I know what works.
- The full picture: I look beyond just the back-end technology. I understand how choices in the database affect how a visitor experiences your website. Everything has to fit together seamlessly.
- A team player for your agency: I speak the language of both developers and project managers. Whether I work alone or within a large team, I adapt quickly and keep the collaboration running smoothly.
- Code built for the future: I don't build quick fixes. You get a website that's technically clean enough that it's still easy to extend and update three years from now.
Frequently asked questions
What does a Drupal website cost?
The price is determined by scope, not by the number of pages: the number of content types, integrations with other systems, how much custom work is needed, whether the site becomes multilingual, and whether existing content needs migrating. A short scoping conversation is enough to arrive at a realistic range, which is why a fixed price list doesn't say much.
What's the difference between Drupal and WordPress?
Drupal is stronger once content is structured, permissions need to be fine-grained, multiple languages are involved, or accessibility is a requirement. WordPress gets a simple site online faster and has a bigger market of ready-made themes. For platforms that grow more complex over the years, Drupal's maintenance cost is typically lower.
Is Drupal suitable for an SME?
Yes, certainly when the site is more than a brochure: product or service catalogues, multiple languages, forms that feed into other systems, or editors who want to work without a developer. Drupal core is free, so the investment goes into architecture and design rather than licences.
When do you need a custom Drupal module?
When the functionality doesn't exist as a maintained contrib module, or when the existing module only covers part of the case and working around it costs more than building it yourself. Custom work pays off when it replaces recurring manual work or touches how the organisation operates.
Can an existing website be migrated to Drupal?
Yes, and content migration is part of the work rather than an afterthought. The important choices come first: which content moves over, how URLs are preserved or redirected, and which structures get redesigned rather than copied. Preserving the URL structure is what protects existing Google rankings.
What happens when Drupal 10 reaches end of life in December 2026?
From 9 December 2026, Drupal 10 stops receiving security updates, so every vulnerability that appears after that stays open. Sites on Drupal 10 need to move to Drupal 11 or 12 before that date. The upgrade path from 10 is much lighter than the old jump from Drupal 7, but it doesn't happen automatically, and contrib modules need checking.
